Juan Lleras

Juan A. Lleras is an artist born in Bogotá, Colombia, and based in Dublin, Georgia, since
2002. He combines formal training in Architecture and Fine Arts from the National
University of Colombia with more than three decades of continuous artistic practice.
His work is defined by a deliberate use of color and an early technical approach to
materials, including the development of his own mineral-based pigments. This foundation
has shaped an aesthetic centered on strong contrasts, structured compositions, and a
focused chromatic vocabulary.
Lleras has participated in more than a couple of dozen exhibitions across the United States
and South America, including shows at Agora Gallery in New York, Middle Georgia College, Nella Terra Gallery in Florida, and various regional art events in Snadersville, Macon and Dublin, Georgia. His work has earned several first-place awards and is part of both public and private collections.
His permanent exhibitions include three commissioned pieces for the City of Dublin, a
public mural on Madison Street, a work in the collection of Middle Georgia College,
sculptures, and a piece held by the Cultural Center of the Gimnasio Moderno in Bogotá.
His career and artwork have been featured in regional and international media outlets such
as the Dublin Courier Herald, Now Magazine, TV35, and El Tiempo in Colombia, reinforcing his visibility in both local and international art circles.
