Nicole Castillo

My name is Nicole Castillo, and I am a Christian-unity ally and advocate, as well as, an Ancestral artist with Spanish and Taino roots. As a poet, fine artist, and filmmaker, my faith calls me to help people in the most dire situations, including defending babies and preserving the dignity of life, taking action against human trafficking, and addressing the urgent need for our community to minister to our neighbors. I have personally developed artistic initiatives like "Prayer As Technology," "Project Protect Eve," and "Southern Gothic Magazine" as platforms to cultivate joy and unity and to minister to those in despair.
My abstract style is informed by biblical text and deep devotion and prayer. I often make art out of convenience; meaning I construct art with flexible tools. I.E. a mechanical pencil and yellow legal note pad, spray paint and a flower pot, or the phone app version of Procreate.
