Kelly Canady

Kelly Canady is a lifelong resident of Dublin,GA and has supported the local arts for many years, but only recently began his expression of art through the medium of stained glass in 2018. Beginning with a few tools and material he purchased at a yard sale, Kelly began watching YouTube videos to learn the skills of cutting, shaping and copper foiling/soldering stained glass. Kelly says he has always had a desire to learn the craft/art of stained glass being raised and influenced under the magnificent stained glass windows of First Baptist Church-Dublin. "I knew that I would learn how to make stained glass pieces someday. I just didn't think that it would take me 61 years to get my life into such a space to begin. The mystery of stained glass evolves through a period of producing a piece when you cannot really see what it will look like until it is soldered together and can be held up to daylight. Then, the true impact of the various blends and textures can be fully appreciated. Stained glass is a living and moving art form, changing with intensity and mood as sunlight fires up each unique piece throughout the day."
