Watercolor Artist

For most of my life I have expressed my art with needle and thread. On a whim I recently took a watercolor painting class and fell in love with the whimsical and free way the water interacts with the paint moving it across the paper. It almost seems to bring the painting to life with little assistance from me. I have done some oil and acrylic painting but watercolor remains my favorite medium because of the interaction between the water and paint. Needle art continues to be my focus but I really love the time I spend with brush in hand and bits of paint all over me. It's fun to include my quilts and lace curtains in my paintings but I also enjoy trying my hand at southern favorites like china, flowers, and of course dogs.
